Specializing in custom ceramic hides, bowls, terrarium decor and more, the products developed by Reptile Raisers will bring the focus of having a pet away from the keeping of an animal and back to caring for another living being. With sales of reptile products alone in the pet industry profiting at $495 million in 2019, corners are clearly being cut to put many and more products out on the market. Hides are being made of cheap plastic in almost every Pet Smart or Petco you enter. But if we're going to keep pet reptiles, shouldn't we do it right?

CONSUMER INSIGHT:

If you raise or breed a pet reptile, you know that one of the most frustrating things to maintain can be the size of the hide that you are purchasing, because like a child does its clothes, your pet is going to outgrow

Its hide and it is up to you as the responsible pet owner to supply a proper sized home for your pet. 

My belief is that in the reptile community along with others, many responsible and loving pet owners would be willing to spend more on their pets homes to have a more sentimental and long-lasting design.

THE SOLUTION:

Everyone needs a place to call home. Not only is it hard to find a good quality reptile hide with all of the cheap plastic ones being made, when we finally find that

hide that we fall in love with, our young pet reptiles manage to outgrow them in a matter of months; and most of the time, the uniquely designed hides don't come in multiple sizes. This is where Reptile Raisers can save the day.

 

A brand catering to both reptiles and their owners by 

producing ceramic reptile hide sets. Created from a set of stackable, wheel thrown bowls, I designed a set of reptile hides that increase in size yet maintain their form and surface design. After being thrown, the bowls are to be trimmed and carved so that they can serve their purpose, to house and feed your pet reptile.

These forms will be fully functional as when turned upside down, the pet owner would have the perfect sized hide for their pet lizard or snake from the time

they hatch until the time they are full sized, and the reptile won’t have to get used to any stressful environment changes as they grow to reach maturity.
